This agreement sets out the terms on which GoTradie Ltd (“GoTradie”, “we”, “us”) accepts tradespeople onto the GoTradie marketplace and the liability you accept when you take on jobs through the platform. By submitting an application and accepting your first job, you agree to the terms below.
You agree to honour GoTradie's advertised pricing — the hourly rates and call-out fees published on the website — for every job you accept through the platform.
When a client selects you for a job, a flat £19 lead fee is charged directly to you by GoTradie via Stripe. This fee is non-refundable once paid, including if the client later cancels or the job does not go ahead, because your contact details and the job lead have already been shared with you.
You agree to carry out all work to a professional standard, consistent with your trade's regulations and best practice, and in compliance with all applicable UK laws.
If a client is unhappy with the quality of your work, GoTradie operates a repair-first policy. Before any refund is issued, you will be given a fair opportunity to return and put right any defect or incomplete work. You agree to attend and rectify such issues within a reasonable timeframe set by GoTradie.
GoTradie acts as a neutral mediator in disputes. Where you are found to be at fault, GoTradie may refund the client in full or in part. Liability for the cost of putting work right follows a strict hierarchy:
GoTradie uses Stripe Direct Charges for app-protected payments — the charge is made on your connected Stripe account and funds are paid out to you. If GoTradie issues a refund to the client (for example after a dispute is upheld), Stripe reverses that charge including any application fee already paid to you.
If your Stripe account has already been paid out, issuing a refund can leave your Stripe balance in deficit (negative). Stripe will attempt to recover the deficit from your future payouts on the platform, but if there is no future GoTradie revenue to draw on, the deficit remains owed by you.
By accepting this agreement you confirm that:
You must hold valid public liability insurance at all times while active on the platform and upload the certificate and expiry date to your profile. Your account will be automatically suspended when your insurance expires until a renewal is uploaded.
For trades that legally require a specific qualification (for example Gas Safe registration for Gas & Heating, or Part P / NICEIC for Electrical), GoTradie will not approve your application until the required qualification is listed on your profile. You agree to only carry out work you are qualified and legally permitted to perform.
All job discussions must take place within the GoTradie app. You must not attempt to arrange work or payment outside the platform with a client you met through GoTradie.
Tradespeople found to be acting in bad faith, misrepresenting qualifications, abandoning work, or repeatedly receiving upheld disputes may be permanently removed from the platform. Removal does not release you from liability for jobs already accepted.
By submitting your application to join GoTradie, and each time you accept a job by paying the £19 lead fee, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Tradesperson Agreement (version 2026-09-01).
