GoTradie Ltd operates the GoTradie marketplace at gotradie.base44.app, connecting customers with vetted tradespeople for home repair and maintenance.

We are the data controller for the personal data processed through the platform, and we are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number 00015366672.

From customers

• Name, email address, and phone number (account creation).
• Job address and postcode, job description, preferred date/time.
• Messages exchanged with your tradesperson via in-app chat.
• Payment details are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card number.
• Reviews and ratings you submit about tradespeople.

From tradespeople

• Name, email, phone, and a profile photo.
• Government-issued ID document and trade certifications/qualifications.
• Public liability insurance certificate and expiry date.
• Service postcode and radius, trade categories, languages, bio, website.
• Bank/payout details (handled by Stripe via their onboarding).
• Job acceptance, time logs, payment requests, and reviews received.

• To provide the service (contract) — creating jobs, matching tradespeople, processing payments, and chat.
• To verify identity and qualifications (legal obligation & legitimate interest) — ID checks, certification and insurance verification to keep the platform safe.
• To prevent fraud and abuse (legitimate interest) — monitoring ratings, disputes, and suspicious activity.
• With your consent — for any optional marketing communications, which you can withdraw at any time.

• Stripe — processes payments and tradesperson payouts. Stripe handles card data directly; we only store transaction IDs. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Base44 — our hosting and database provider, which stores your data securely on our behalf.
• Matched tradespeople — receive the job details you provide (address, description, contact) so they can carry out the work.
• Customers — see a tradesperson's first name, trade and ratings when choosing; full contact details are shared only once a customer selects a tradesperson.
• Authorities — where required by law or to prevent fraud.

We never sell your personal data.

Your data is stored by Base44 and processed in the UK/EEA where possible. Stripe processes some data in the United States under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses. We only transfer your data outside the UK where appropriate safeguards are in place.

• Active accounts — kept for as long as your account is active.
• Transaction & job records — retained for up to 7 years after completion to meet UK tax and accounting obligations.
• ID & certification documents — kept while a tradesperson is active and for a short period after account closure for dispute/audit purposes, then deleted.
• Deleted accounts — we remove your profile and personal data promptly when you close your account, subject to any legal retention requirement above.

• Access — ask what data we hold about you.
• Rectification — correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Erasure — request deletion of your data (use “Delete Account” in the app).
• Restriction — ask us to limit processing in certain circumstances.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format.
• Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Withdraw consent — at any time, without affecting processing already done.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

We protect your data using encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest, strict access controls, and role-based permissions so users only see data relevant to them. Card data is never stored by us — it's handled entirely by Stripe.

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future, we'll ask for your consent first.

GoTradie is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent version. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or by email.
